A small studio for good light
We started in a Seoul workshop with a single hand-blown pendant and a stubborn belief that light should be sculpted, not just switched on — beautiful in daylight, warmer still after dark.
Our story
Lumen & Co. began in a small Seongsu-dong workshop in the spring of 2021. We had a single hand-blown opal pendant, a soldering iron, and no real plan beyond making the kind of light we wished we could buy ourselves. The first fixture we hung over our own table changed how the whole room felt after sunset — and we realised other people were chasing the same quiet quality of light.
Everything we carry is made the same way today. We work directly with a small circle of makers — a glassblower in Namdong, a brass turner outside Seoul, an electrical engineer who dials in every driver by hand — and we test each fixture at dusk before it reaches the shelf. If the light isn't warm, even, and glare-free, it doesn't make the cut.
We believe in buying fewer lights and choosing them well. A single well-made lamp you switch on every evening is worth more than a ceiling full of fixtures that only ever glare. That is the quiet idea behind the whole collection, and it's the invitation we extend to you: light a home slowly, one considered fixture at a time.

Solid brass, marble, and glass over disposable plastic, paired with efficient dimmable LEDs and replaceable parts. We'd rather sell you one fixture that lasts a decade than ten that flicker out in a season.

Nothing here is too precious for everyday life. These are lamps for real homes — warm, glare-free, and dimmable, made for late dinners, slow mornings, and long evenings reading.
